Children will learn the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a safe and controlled environment taught by a well trained instructor. Children are taught the fundamentals of submission holds, escapes, self-defense, and position control. This class helps to improve the child’s discipline, fitness, and teaches them how to achieve goals in a positive atmosphere."
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Basics:
The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu basics class focuses primarily on establishing a solid foundation for the student. Whether an individual is learning Jiu-Jitsu for self fulfillment, to compete in sport Jiu-Jitsu competitions, Submission Wrestling, Mixed Martial Arts, or self-defense, one needs to have a firm understanding of the basics. The fine details of submissions, escapes, position stabilization, position controls, takedowns, and self-defense are thoroughly presented in the basics class. The basics class is designed to prepare every student for the advanced classes and sparring.
Open to all students
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU ADVANCED:
The advanced class is for the students who have completed 15 basic classes and has obtained the instructor’s permission to move ahead. In the advanced class students learn how to add on to their knowledge of the basics to progress their individual game. Students will learn more advanced submission, escapes, positions, takedowns, and sweeps. Every advanced class ends with sparring.
Open to all adult students who have completed 15 basic classes and have instructor's permission.
Submission Wrestling/No-Gi:
Open to adult students who have completed 15 basic classes.
SELF-DEFENSE:
This class is taught by TPC founder Pat
Hardy. These classes take a look at scenarios that a student would not
normally encounter in the academy when training and focus on scenarios
one would more than likely experience on the street against an
untrained aggressor where there are no rules. These classes are
considered basics and count toward the 15 basic classes required to
progress to the advance classes.
OPEN TO ALL ADULT STUDENTS.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA):
These classes also focus on enforcing
Jiu-Jitsu in MMA which has become popular through the Ultimate
Fighting Championship (UFC). There is an increased perspective on
standup training and sparring on the ground when striking is involved.
Mouthpiece, cup, gloves, & hand wraps are required pieces of equipment
for this class.
Open to adult students who have 4 months training
